About me...

As you probably know, my name is George, and I lived in Montgomery County for over 9 years. About my computer experience, I do know a decent amount of HTML, some Visual Basic, and some C++, and I've been learning about programming and designing on the computer for several years. As I said, I lived here for over 9 years; specifically, I lived here since December 1998, when I was only 8 years old, trying to get used to the cold weather here because I used to live in South Florida for all my life.

When I moved here, there were just the Ride On buses, and nothing else about them, except that I really wanted to ride the green buses because they were very hard to get, the '99-'00 Orion V CNG's (Compressed Natural Gas) didn't arrive yet, so all there was was 5567-5569. But it wasn't all about the bus numbers when I was only 8, it was whether it was green, or blue, nothing else like orange lights on destination signs because they didn't come around for another 3 years. After the '99-'00 Orion V CNG's joined the Ride On Fleet, it was still pretty hard to get, but at least I saw them more often, and more impressed because of the newer interior, like yellow bars instead of the traditional unpainted silver bars. It wasn't until the summer of 2004 when I was more interested on the bus number when I got on the bus and was bored when I got on and looked up and saw the number (I remember that was the '01-'02 Orion V bus 5623), and I thought "I remember seeing a bus number that started with a 55 instead of 56 like this, there are over 100 of this series bus." And I really liked the '01-'02 bus numbers, but unfortunately for me, all of the buses that start with a 56 moved to Silver Spring, that and 5594-5602, which I didn't like that that just happened.

I remember seeing the first Orion VII CNG that flew across my eyes, and that was in late spring of 2004, and I was happy about them and liked riding on them, but eventually I got bored with them and because they became a very common bus in the Gaithersburg area. The '01-'02 Orion V's 5594-5602 and 5612-5623 moved to Silver Spring after the Orion VII CNG's moved in Gaithersburg, which makes it one reason I dislike the Orion VII's and very recently 5589-5592 have moved to Silver Spring, which made me more upset  It's very upsetting to see a semi-new bus with a nice interior, nice numbers, and good memories to move to another bus depot, especially 5580, 5583, 5586, 5592, 5595-5597, 5621, and 5623. To make things worse, now that the rest of the 2005 Orion VII CNGs (5933-5957) came into service, ALL of the remaining Gaithersburg's 2001-2002 Orion V's moved to Silver Spring. So far, I either saw and/or heard that 5580, 5582, 5584, and 5585-5587 are in Silver Spring, but I have a feeling that all of them are in Silver Spring now. Looking at the bright side...at least we now have more clean CNG buses, and fewer standard diesel buses, and that's obviously better for the environment. Well, enough of that blabber...

At around October or November, I started taking pictures of Metrobuses, which marked the beginning of the expansion and remodification of my website. Then I decided: "Why not take pictures of every transit authority I encounter"? So I did, now I have pictures of other transit authorities around the DC area and in south Florida. I believe the first Metrobus I took a picture of was a Flxible Metro-E numbered 4039. Since then, my website has greatly expanded from just Ride-On buses, to the DC regional buses, the MTA buses in Baltimore, MD, the buses in Southern Florida, and the SEPTA buses in Philadelphia.

Anyways, that's about it, and in late July, I thought about making this website, and I started to do it on August 3rd. Back then, I knew very little about HTML, but throughout September and October and even now, I learned so much about HTML, that I thought it was fun, and thanks to HTML, I made this website much more professional looking than when I started in early August 2005. So yes, buses aren't my only hobby, photography and HTML are also my hobbies, which makes the making of this site possible.
